This is a great time for new members to join the group!

NEXT MEETING: FEBRUARY 24

Please come join the OCDP Book Study Group led by Carl Fortsen.

Meetings are the 4th Monday of each month from 4:30 until 6:00pm at the OCDP office, 110 South College Ave in Walhalla.

We begin each meeting with a 30 minute discussion of current political issues before turning to the book.

Current Book

People, Power, and Profits - Progressive Capitalism for an Age of Discontent by Joseph Stiglitz

We all have the sense that the American economy—and its government—tilts toward big business, but as Joseph E. Stiglitz explains in his new book, People, Power, and Profits, the situation is dire. Read more on Good Reads.

Part I of the book was a recap of how our economy has come to favor the rich. We are beginning Part II this month and will discuss Chapter 8. Restoring Democracy and Chapter 9. Restoring a Dynamic Economy with Jobs and Opportunity for All.
